Richard reached the finals of the inaugural Brett Kebble Art Awards. There were 1600 entries out of which 160 finalist were chosen.

Wow, what a night. Brett Kebble certainly outdid himself. As an artist I feel honored to be South African and to have entered the Brett Kebble awards. I didn't win but I was invited to the event. Mr Kebble cut no corners! From the venue to the catalogue, the curators to the food. I have yet to see an event of this caliber in South Africa. The only disappointing part was buying the Newspaper the next morning (1 October) and not seeing the awards on the front page. Sad!.

All the top guns/gallery owners were there. Two of South Africa's 'Big Five" were there and Gus Silber was invited to do the copy .A great party was had by all. I have already mustered plans for next years entries, or should i say; winning entries :). See you next year.
