    VEO Exhibition

This exhibition is about two artists indulging in child's play while creating a finished product as the outcome for the world to enjoy. The first time I saw Richard Scott's work I knew that it would be loved. This is mostly because it is colourful, beautiful and fun, familiar and friendly, but also because it crystallizes the simplicity of life. As adults we often over-complicate things, fill our lives with busy. When we encounter a childlike viewpoint it delights us - the simple elements of a house, the outline of a figure, the suggestion of a hill, the cat drawn with one line - because it reminds us of how simple things were and can be. It gives us joy to see the world as a child might see it. And who wouldn't want to experience that pleasure? That is why Richards's work will continue to enchant and to please. And now he has found someone, in the artist Chris Basson, who has the same sense of delight in what they do, the same feeling of simplicity and clarity of vision. Come and be delighted. Glynis VEO
