    Light Years Away
Light Years away is a selection of work from past to present, from experimental to drawing. Scott, one of South Africa's leading contemporary artists, invites you to take a glimpse into what is to come in 2006 and beyond.

Born in 1968, Scott pursued a career in the Internet field while dabbling in art. In 2001 he sold his equity in Shocked, an internet company he started in 1998, and took up art full time in order to start a family. His short career has seen sales of 730 artwork's in three years. As a contemporary artist he has made an impression on both the South African art scene (Brett Kebble Art Awards finalist two years running) and on local and international buyers.

Scott, who's current work includes a large commission for a Belgian client, inclusion in the Woolworth's Winter In-Store advertising campaign, as well as the launch of his first book, says: "2005 has been a big and fast year for me, the second quarter is already here, and I still have so much to do. This exhibition is a narrative of the past 3 years of my art career. From the beginning to the present to the future. I'm looking forward to creating big things. From art to opportunities in the form of a foundation to identify and create long term projects that benefit the arts in South Africa."

Richard has worked closely with Joshua Rossouw, of The Rossouw Galleries. "The past two years have seen Richard's work develop a definite acquaintance with whichever medium he chose to indulge in. Romantic. Naughty. Nice? He is making history," he says.

The Rossouw Gallery brings you this exhibition that will take you on a journey beyond 2005. Be first in line to see what is ahead for Richard Scott in 2006 and beyond.
